Chicken Liver Pate

Ingredients for Chicken Liver Pate

  • 1/2 lb chicken livers
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 cup rendered chicken fat or butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Cayenne pepper to taste

Preparation of Chicken Liver Pate

      • Bring the chicken livers to a boil and simmer gently for about twenty minutes.
      • Drain, and put process the chicken livers in a food processor adding the chicken fat or butter, grated onion and spices.  Process until smooth, pack into a small crock, and refrigerate.
