Chicken Liver Pate
Ingredients for Chicken Liver Pate
- 1/2 lb chicken livers
- 1 medium onion
- 1/2 cup rendered chicken fat or butter
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Cayenne pepper to taste
Preparation of Chicken Liver Pate
- Bring the chicken livers to a boil and simmer gently for about twenty minutes.
- Drain, and put process the chicken livers in a food processor adding the chicken fat or butter, grated onion and spices. Process until smooth, pack into a small crock, and refrigerate.
